It’s the time of the year again when most of us start writing their resolutions while I jot down what took place in 2008. I stop writing resolutions few years ago coz I achieved practically none.
Like no other years, 2008 was a big turning point in my life, I left college and as a male citizen responsibility, I serve the country. The turning point was so terrifying because it drastically changes my lifestyle and myself. No more of gay night drives, DVD marathons, out-of-the-bed late mornings, weekly shopping spree and anything of that sort. I then realise how much precious time is.
My family has been great this year, congratulations to my brother for his 2nd new born, 1st son, Iqbal. 2 in 3 years… Fast huh. Hakim also sat for his major exam and currently, happily slacking around in the house. I didn’t spent much time with the family this year even before serving, back then it was either my full time job or my final year in college which ate a big sum of time.
I didn’t have a ball of time during the final year in college, everyone within the cliques got separated to different classes, even our class timetable doesn’t clash, meaning there was less chance to hang out. Remember the dinner and karaoke session we had after our convocation, I really dig it! It was quite sometime before that we could actually meet up as a whole. The final year was the most stressful season, yet the most satisfied one, finally I was doing what I wanted to do all the while in school.
Hairul, Yuhan! Two really close friends, I realise only this year we got to hang out more right? These 2 people share a thing or two with me, BROKEN HEARTED! Hairul, cheap thrill lah kite drive up that hill and stole unchain stuffs… Yuhan, shopping-after-working-hours and a movie buddy, sorry, but you might wanna get a replacement on the weekdays.
Prata Planet aka P.P. This was the place we use to hang out almost every night, be it after work, school or just meet up on a mundane day. The Prata Planet brothers and sister were Dz, Hairul, Yati, Tsab, Taufik, Mahesh, Eizhar, Man, Din, Amin… did I miss anyone else? Since it close-down, we have yet to find a place like P.P. Good drinks, good crowd, nice food and pleasant environment.
It was really really gloomy to leave the Luge Crews. I never stayed in a company that long, never drag myself to work and never had really much fun while working. I’ll try to visit you guys once in a while when I can. You people are the best, never felt so comfortable among colleagues.
Cesspit has been moving in comfortable pace, not rushing things to get done. We are no different from any other year, very joyous, euphoric, still youthful and always on a high. All the recording are done this year and hope the post-production wouldn’t take long, hang in there fans, its coming with a bang! Oh yah, introducing a new guy to take up my place while I serve, Fir!
Surrendering my pink IC for 2 years was very nerve wrecking for me. Serious shit dude, its no small thing. The beginning has ended and practically my new year starts this Monday. I’m going to medical school. Yes, yes! Medic, medic! 1 year 9 months more to back to my long awaited civilian life, padahal it’s only been 3 months. My parents they are happy for my posting, not that bad lah haaa, anyway, a lot of people that I know gonna see me there at the same camp.
2008 wasn’t very upbeat, family facing financial difficulties, uncle almost getting a divorce, more heart broken friends, death of closest grand aunty, an old friend lost his live, the squabble with one of my cliques and many more that I shouldn’t mention. We can just pray for the better tomorrow, better wealth, better health, longevity, better outcome of the economy, better relation with people around, and better love for me!!!
I would say, I WOULD NOT miss 2008. You are just a passing year.

Now, everything has change, I put all that behind me and will never ponder upon those days. Certainly, these boys who shared the transformation to man will be missed! What could beat celebrating 21st birthday with them and a surprise birthday song while walking in the wild. Thick and thin, highs and lows. Screw it, just do it baby!

When you thought they were dependable to be there when needed help but to your surprise they are the one who will leave you alone to see you suffer by yourself, not even trying to give a hand.
I was left alone dying while they watch me suffer to my tiny bits. Everybody could see... I just needed a bit more air.
They let everyone down.
They let me down.
They changed the way I look at them.

The world we love is forever gone. Slowly it depletes without realizing. Even if the sun still rises from the east to the west, it's shine doesnt take this discomfort away anymore. I realize the more distant we get, the more we need each other. Stay with me, you are the one I need. If only everyone could see this stranger next to me... Let go if you wish but don't say good bye.

Well now that Im home, I just gonna update what happened during Raya this year. Raya this year isnt the same as those previous ones, just because I got to serve the country this year. Its the 10th Syawal today and I've only celebrated 2 days of which the first day and the following saturday to visit daddy's side, sunday was back to training, the rest of my family went visiting on mummy's side while I stayed at home and prepare. It kindda sad not able to join the family to go visit the other relatives as every year Im always looking forward to the first weekend of Hari Raya. But nevertheless Hari Raya was celebrated similarly like every year, beside not completing my 30 days of fasting which I lost count how many days I broke my fast..... training was tough okay.
Alhamdulillah the first book out I at least gotta spend the last few days of Ramadhan with the family before Raya. Home was in tip top condition, wall newly painted courtesy of the guy typing this, kuih raya this year was all home made and tasted good, lontong prepared, basically Raya mood was in, plus, the night before Raya I made my way to Geylang and trust me, I wont be going there again on Raya night. Jam fucking packed with alot of people, traffic jams were crazy, looking for a parking lot was a chaotic situation and it was infested up with mats and minahs. I manage to get only an hour of sleep before waking up for prayers at the mosque, and that was a move I really regretted, my eyes were half open in the toilet, at the mosque and luckily not while driving the car. Straight after the prayer we went to nenek's house which is not that far away for really heavy Raya breakfast. We headed home first to visit the relatives, snap some shots, wash up before heading to nyanyi's house. There, I landed for 3 hours and to any relatives that came, Im sorry but I cant help it but to sleep. As usual the first day is always celebrated with the close family, not much to run around coz alot of my relatives come to visit my nenek and nyayi.
Those who were at nenek's place in the morning Family Shot 01 Family Shot 02 Family Shot 03 Family Shot 04 Family Shot 05 First Niece, Introducing Dora Explora look-alike, Nurin Insyirah Thats mum with her beloved cucu and my sister. Get well soon nyayi Kiah Nyayi with cucu and cicit Busker wannabe lah they all
What a way to complete the night, fun with the bunga api
We went home early than usual because I got to book in camp the next morning but as I said, the weekend was just nearby to look forward to. Daddy's side got together first this time round and I never find visiting with them a bore.

A few more days and Raya would be over, still I've not jalan raya with college mates, hope nothing corks up next week. Till next time, Selamat Hari Raya everyone

After putting down the public phone at Pasir Ris train station, I turned and saw a big smile coming towards me and saw a familiar face. Thanks Hairul for being there to pick me up for my first book out. My parents wasnt free that particular day. Im already missing alot of things besides missing friends and family, I miss stuffs like Caramel Machiatto, mums cooking, prata, double chocolate from McCafe, teh tarik, nescafe yaddaa yadaaa yadaaa, Yes, as you can see Im a food person...
Well, since I wasnt fasting on that day I went to get double choc from McCafe at WhiteSands and the same night almost a prata but the guys at PP treat me for some Indian Rojak which doesnt taste that bad.
There was a warm welcome when I reached home, little Intan Maisarah greated with her smile only after figuring out who the hell is this guy in army uniform sitting outside the door. Mum, Afiq and my last sister came by later. Only God knows how much I miss them. Home never felt so good before. Hahaha. Its good the see my bed and my Mac again, awwwhhh the only 2 things in my room that I treasure the most. F1 was on the TV, eventhough I stink, we sat at the living room together to watch the prestigious event, first ever night race in F1 history. It was a great night spent with family and friends over at Prata Planet.

Ready, Get set, ROLL!!!
What other way to meet up with my ex-colleagues than having fun outdoors. We decided on Zorbing, at Old Holland Road. Total of 13 of us gathered for the long awaited thrilling ride, and we thought the the slope wasnt steep enough, ohhh.... everyone thought wrong, it went faster than everyone expected.
Being first to go and to add the fun, i went with the biggest guy around, Zaimie(below). Oh you can so imagine how fast the ball can roll down now and this buddy of mine melatar like nobody business. I have no idea how it would feel and i actually under-estimated it. At the end of the roll, his face turned pale.
When it first rolled and my body started turn over to the top, I can actually feel the free fall, its like a mini viking in there but you're going 360 around. I thought once was enough, each of us were given 2 rolls but i took 3 as one of em decided to roll once only.
We brought 50 liters of water in a Jerry's can and 2nd roll was hydro time! A mini feeling how would it be like to be stuck in a washing machine. I prefer it dry thou coz when the ball is filled with water, it goes up to your nose, mouth and eyes. You cant even shout as water will enter the mouth and irritate you on the nose.
3 rolls for me and 4 rolls for Eizhar, which he should have pay more. Quietly go in the ball and roll eh.... smart.....
We planned for seafood at East Coast but ended up at Simpang Bedok coz we cant get parking space and the highway at ECP tested out patience 2 cars broke down and road congestion due to the fireworks.
I had Gong Gong for the first time and its not really that delicious like everyone describes. To me all shell seafood kindda taste the same. Really worth my cents eating it but the serving is a lil bit to little, it doest really fill up the tummy that was empty since morning. But okay lahhh as long got stingray im happy enough!
We wrapped our day with Ice Cream Chef at Siglap. We were they really late at 11.30 when they close at 11pm. Someone actually said it closes at 1. See, in the end we didnt get the toppings but only the ice cream, ok lah since most of us is craving for it. I got myself Milo Peng ice cream when I should get myself Mocha. That was really heavenly.
Thanks guys for making one of my days not boring. Gonna miss the bunch alot!!! Love ya'll!

But the show still have to go on in JB. It wasnt that bad, I prefer the trip to KL two years ago. That was wicked! Having 5 cars to pick us up from Pudu and having rockstar-ish feel. Crashing over Wan's place for a night and made our way back to town without anyone of us bathing. (Picture below) Kopet(never bath in the morning in malay) abis kitorang! I really miss that trip.

I've been such a pain in the ass these few days at work. I have to plead guilty for it. If there is ever a PMS-ing period for guys, its happening to me now. Small little petty things can piss me off so badly and I think it is to an extent that I throw my tantrums to some of the guys at work.
This Is My Confession
There's a number of guys at the work place whom I cant seriously work with at all and I hate being pretentious and a hypocrite to myself but to admit that I just can't produce well with your presence. Im sorry if Im a bitch to you guys and I know I am. I realise Im on some people hate-list and I don't blame anything for that except myself. Who cares anyway... I admit that Im preferential to some but I can't help it, tried to change but nothing willing help.
Im tired of being on bad-mood at work.
Remedy might just come next week, aku rindu keje dengan kau lah siol!

I might not be there to bid goodbye. So sad that I cant give a big hug to a small little friend. But I know you're coming back during the summer break. Right B1? To all the good times we had for the past 2 years, I'll cherish those moment deeply. How can I not forget the first time we met, you thought I was drunk. To a good friend that is never near home, let just forgo the distance between each other now, may you do well in uni and bring the degree home after 2 years. I'll miss your gigi, your funny KL accent, our random night out to funny places, your demand for half-man-serve food that will never exist in Singapore, pastering you to stop using KL-slang when you're here and getting ditch in KL on a new year eve with Yuhan, we only got a hotel after 3 hours walking okay. Hahaha.
I'll be waiting here to have Banana Choc Milkshake together at Simpang Bedok okay.

Random
One word to describe today is RANDOM. Seriously me and Za didnt have plans for the day but she came all the way from Marine Parade to Jurong just because she was freaking bored at home and I had plans to bring her to Singapore Discovery Centre since this Singaporean friend of mine don't know her own's country history, ohh yahh, you're brought up in KL. The first random thing was my new pairs of Vans thongs. Why the fuck did I bought one when I have like 2 pairs of slippers at home? Next was when we planned to lepak at Bukit Timah but my smart girl suggested for Night Safari just as soon as we were about to queue for the bus. Isn't that brilliant or what?
I was dissapointed because flying squirrels didnt want to fly tonight.
I enjoyed looking at the bats. She got scared of the bats that she held my hand throughout the whole walk. And it was painful.
I was entertained by the animal show.
She thinks otters are cute but I think they are smelly.
I love the leopards. I love my cats and she thinks that they belong in the zoo.
Today was so RANDOM that I introduced Za to my parents and she like my mum. Ok, where did that come from? I think they had a communication breakdown coz Za was having difficulties trying to converse with her in Singapore Malay and I kept spotting her KL slang.
Im beginning to love RANDOM.
Zohan is not worth your cents watching it at the movie. No, Im not saying its bad but just wait for the DVD to come out. Funny? Adam Sandler.... What else could you expect. I didnt know Ben Sneider acted in it until the credits. No wonder one of the guy look like him. Zohan is like a superhero but he's a hairdresser that fucks old women aka MILF or GILF after his hair services. He's dirty ass fella!

What else could be a good start of an off day than waking up late but my brother woke me up kindda early at around 10 am asking if I wanna tag along with them to the zoo. Who's going? Those small cousins my mum take cares of, the 2 younger siblings and my mum. I wasnt sure if I wanna tag along and I asked if I could drive them to the zoo but dad didnt allow me. His reason was there's alot of traffic on the roads. To me, it doesnt really make any sense.
We reached the zoo in the afternoon and spent like 5 hours in there but by 3pm I started yawning off and was so darn tired of walking. The last time I was there was like a year ago but things had changed quite alot. I wasnt really into seeing all these animals but my most favourite was the sea lion and the seal. I dont know why but they just look awesome and big and cute and cuddly. We manage to catch the splash show showcasing Carlos, the big sea lion showing off his tricks along with his penguins side kicks. That was the only highlight of the trip and the rest was simply bringing the kids along to see all the animals.
Good the hear that Virus Cinta is back in Anugerah Band in the wildcard round and they should be in. I was happy that some of the bands that I thought couldnt make it and actually made it through the previous round was voted out by the judges this week. Here's a clip of Virus Cinta in the previous round show. go ska go!

JAKARTA BANDUNG!!! wooohooooo. This should be a well deserved one from the final lap in school and the frantic environment from work. Departed from Singapore on the 17th and we bought the tickets so damn last minute due to some hiccups done by the partner in crime for the trip. Since I was departing to Jakarta on the same day as MeiShan was leaving to US, I was at the airport earlier than expected, was there at T1 to bid her off goodbye and then both of us (Me & Hairul) had lunch with Val. While waiting for checking in, we were busy sorting out stuffs for our hand luggage coz we're only allowed to bring 7kg of weight in and after checking in only to know that no one weigh our cabin luggage. At the gate Hairul was busy fiddling around with the camcorder while I tried to get some sleep as my eyes was barely open wide an as soon it was closing this bugger woke me up. Gate open still we had to wait. This is the only thing I hate about flying, wait wait wait. My life had enough of waiting.
1 1/2 hour journey, GMT +7. Aji was the man Im depending on for the trip. Get to crash his place for three nights and we got his ride to go around Jakarta and drive up till Bandung. Touch down = Soekarno-Hatta International Airport Terminal 2. The first thing I did when we got out from the Arrival hall wasnt to get really cheap ciggies but instead I grab A&W rootbeer float. What a greeting baby! oh, besides Aji greeting us with "Eh amacam gengs" in his funny tone.
We didnt head back straight to his crib but we were off to some gig at some secluded village. It was actually a cigarette promotion. I still remember the tag line for the Star Mild cigarette, "Lebih Hidup, Lebih Terobsesi!" That gig was held at some open field and it was free coz it was catered to the lower class people. But what surprised me the most was the crowd. Those moshing were actually kids aged from 7 to 12 years old. Yes, moshing and smoking! And yes not forgetting the regular fights we get in gigs here. They have it too! Wait, let me tell you about the promoter girls selling the cigarettes, sexy hot spanking stuff baby! SEX SELLS! Bands were pretty awesome eventhough the sound system was really really corked up and it was blasting too loud that the right blowed off! Stage mcm baybeats eventhough it was some kampung gig. Cool eh....
2nd day we headed to Ambassador shopping centre to get stuffs for my mum and nenek and cheap camera accessories for me and Hairul, he got a Lowepro bag for less than 100SGD and I got my SB-600 for 200+SGD. D300 cost like 1.4kSGD damn damn cheap!! which is like the same price for my d50. Jakarta traffic jams is such a pain in the ass!!! 200 meters can take you up to 1 hour geng. RABAK! And the best part of all you can get anything from drinks to magz and ciggies in the middle of the jam.
There was this local clothing label shop we visited that night. Its those kindda shops that you can get over at Haji Lane but at least the price there is affordable and not overrated like the ones you get here for some simple funny designs. Raben, Aji's friend was the dude who were at the store and he showed us around designs that came in from the States, Australia and Indonesia. I must say that Indon designs are kindda unique, its not purely computer graphics but there were alot of hand drawn design which some caught the eye. Price cost from 80,000Rp to 200,000Rp. Worth as the shirt quality and printing is good.
Raben then invited us to this club called VENUE as DJ Lethal from Limp Bizkit might be spinning coz he was spinning at some event the previous night. Im, not the clubbing kind actually decided to crash the club for some time as we didnt have plans for the night after visiting Aksara and having Nasi Uduk for dinner. Aksara is this Boarders-kind of book.music.cafe store only cooler as they sell vinyl, local band t-shirts a wide range of cooler furniture and of coz hotter Indon indie chics. Hahahahaha. You gotta try Nasi Uduk man, its like the Indon version of Nasi Lemak without the ikan bilis. Im not really sure of the ingredients but it does have a fragrance. You eat it with some sambal and either fried fish or chicken plus some veges. And not forgetting TehBotol and Fruit Tea. One drink we get every day. Sedap giler and you cant get that here.
Nasi Uduk sedap!!
Outside Casa and Aksara
Car whoring
VENUE Bar
The next morning we went to Monas, short form for Monument Nasional. Mind me, the Indons like to use short forms and funny turn-it-the-other-way-round slang like ssob(boss) usually to address the person in an informal manner, and woles(selow) means relax. We bought tickets to go up to the peak but we got to know that the queue was kindda long so we skipped that and we went to some historical museum at the basement of the monument. We didnt really spent much time there but I was there for some good shots and here are some of it.
Monas (National Monument)
Roti Bakar
For dinner that night we got ourself a super deep duper roti bakar that have cornbeef, cheese and butter in between the breads. That was one best roti I had and the best food in Jakarta and 2 of it made me full for the night but we still had to head to Food Fest again coz Aji wanted to intro some of his friends to us. Food Fest is a eating place that have a stretch of stalls which comprises of western and asian food, its like Lau Pa Sat. But what shocked us the most was when you just grab a place, a person would come up to your table and lay off like 20 different menu from 20 different stalls. I was like spoilt for choice geng and we were so disturbed by alot of people from different stalls standing around us to wait for our order. So were ordered blindly just to shoo them away. Kindda weird... but hey, they have nice mocktails in jugs.
So we actually got to meet some Indon chicks, mcm happy giler kan since tak dpt jumpe Dian Sastrowardoyo. Introducing, from left to right is Nunu, Weiweid, Tata and Lien and not forgetting Tata's bf Wanwan. Their names like repeated ehhh... Oh me and Hairul think she's like hot, so purposely I got a photo of them together but Hairul was blushing away. Hanging out with these bunch is super fun, like getting to know all of their slangs and exchanging our languages was the most fun. Like how a certain word can have a totally different meaning in another country..... After squeezing in the Swift sending the ladies home Aji drove us to a Cirle K where his mates we're hanging out. Aji had some local drinks and he was tipsy so I offered to drive them home. That night Hairul kept telling me that Lien was hot and wasnt over the fact that he had forgotten to take her email down.
That same night we were packing up for Bandung and also home. The road trip to Bandung was a great scenery experience coz we got to see the countryside and sawah padi field, away from the city the air is so much cooler and fresher.
2 hours drive, we headed to the highway and I took over the cockpit let the host get his rest. I would never test my driving skills in Indonesia man.... the traffic over at Jakarta itself is a big headache, the traffic lights confused me and drivers there drive in a weird manner. Highway is okay.
We went straight up higher for lunch over at Bandung Tinggi where I ate this weird taste Mee Baso(Bakso) which I thought would be nicer than those you can get in Singapore, but it was that great beside the scenery we got sitting outside the restaurant.
Bandung is all about shop shop shop and more to shop! On the same night we hop to hell lot of distros. From Unc347 to MonikCeltic... oh MonikCeltic is a local label that was opened by Arina, Mocca vocalist. I ended up buying a total of 3 bags and a couple of tees. Price's here are super cheap cheap cheap like one of the EAT bag I got was 80000Rp which is like 13SGD. I know I could buy more if I didnt have bought the camera flash which was a hard to get deal. Definitely coming back Bandung in 2 or 3 months time with loaded wallets. I actually planned to go up the volcano that my mum mention but we were so engrossed on shopping that we didnt have the time to visit that.
I reached Jakarta with 2 bags and now leaving Bandung with 5. Before heading back to the hotel for the final night, we went up Bandung Tinggi again to bar hop around. The climate was pretty cool, first we got up to cloud 9 and then to Jims Bar, it was clean fun with no alcohol involved, good thing. The last morning we woke up pretty early and I caught up with little sleep watching some Indie french movie at the hotel but did manage to check out on time for lunch at CiWalk. Talking about food we actually tried Sundanese food and it was simply awesome, but that evening they were out of brains, so I didnt get to try that delicacy. Sundanese food are mostly bbq which doesnt make me feel that its very foreign and they have seafood, chicken, tempeh which sounds very local to us.
Driving back to Jakarta took a shorter time than we expected eventhough there was a minor jams on the highway, a couple of pit stops for sarko(isap rokok) and dunkin donuts filled the tummy to last 2 hours in the car. It was kindda sad to be leaving, 5 days felt damn short, 5 days was worth spending on Jakarta and Bandung, 5 days wasnt actually enough. Again, when we reached the airport was, TO WAIT and wait and wait.
We thought we wont recognise anyone on the plane, but we did, we saw this chinese girl that was on the same plane with us to JKT, she stared and I smile, but she didnt return it. The next morning on the way to work, I bummed into her at Boon Lay MRT, weird isnt it.
To end of here at some shots I took through out the whole journey. Enjoy viewing.

Been quite a while since I updated this blog. Work is such hectic and climate nowadays suck big time until this morning. I miss that kind of downpour during work downpour after weeks of scorching hot sun. Finished reading this book borrowed from Hairul titled "Whatever You Think, Think The Opposite". It gave a whole new different meaning to look at each individual lives. It tells to one who wishes to have an exciting, adventurous, non-monotonous live to make unexpected decision, not to decide on the most chosen option or the safest one. It made me realize that we have a lot of choices, who we want to be, how do we want to be mould, be this or be that. Im surprised that I could finish that book in 2 days when I myself is not a reader kind of a person, but this book really help people to figure out who they really wanna be. Unique or just like the other one....
I took an off day on the last Public Holiday - Laboour Day - to have a trip to Muar and Melacca with the family to visit far relatives. At the same time I was geared up with my D50, telephoto and kit 18-55 and here is what I got..
I think now village areas is one of my fav spot to shoot. Nature that is!

Off day today and woke up looking at my niece watching TV. She doesn't even bother me and won't let me carry her. Her parents are over at the hospital looking over her new born brother in the incubator. The weather these few days is a killer, total humid and dryness and getting to bed isnt that easy.
Jakarta, hopefully I'll come see you next month okay. I don't know why but I really cant wait for this trip. And then a road trip to Bandung with Aji. Geng, its been quite a while since the last time I met you right? GST money in already!! Everybody is richer by at least $150 but mum already told me that amount is not suppose to be spent, all goes to the Saving account......
"Cukop Bulan Naik Gaji"
Too bad I cant play for this show coz they confirm last min but I've already made plans with mum to go Muar and visit some relatives over the PH. But still, Cesspit would be there playing even without their trombonist! Kick ass guys!
Lately missing so much on someone whom I didnt see for such a long while. My cute sweet chinese girl busy with her final semester. Dont lose the grip, like how you kept telling me not to give up and gave me confidence to move forward. Go MeiShan.
Nice shot? If it is, it will be on Cesspit front sleeve.
Im getting tanner, need to buy skin whitener. Seriously.

I've been away from work for the whole 7 days and what else could be a good welcome back greeting than a 3 hours heavy downpour. I started to get really bored at instruction area until I spotted Ryan new Motorola and so I decided to test the camera on myself. 2 hours of super duper boredom=$15 gaji buta! hahaha. But nevertheless it was still a good feeling to luge down the track in the rain for lunch.
Oh, last week I spent my Sunday watching Anugerah Band at Junction 8 Bishan to support friends competing and I dare say that they are one of the few who really stood out from the other rock band simply because the werent playing rock. 90% of the 48 groups competing in that round were playing Malay Rock and that gave Virus Cinta a chance to be really different. Below is an attached video of them on stage. Anw, congratulations for making through to the next round ok!
Now Im sensing a very hectic week!

I know I'll see you again, whether far or soon. But I need you to know that I care and I miss you.
